Sharing experiences within teaching and learning
Strengthening the position of teaching and learning in research intensive universities – this is the main purpose of the international NETL network. University members will share their experiences in a joint book project to be finished in 2016.
NETL, a university network dedicated to enhancing teaching and learning in research intensive universities, held their 2015 conference at the University of Copenhagen. The conference focused on thematic discussions and shared experiences between participants within four main tracks
- To navigate in a continuous reform agenda
- Enhancing the quality and status of teaching
- Interdisciplinarity
- Higher education research in universities
NETL is a small informal network with a unique combination of representatives from university management and teaching / learning experts, allowing direct access and dialogue between universities. It was established in 2005 by Graham Gibbs, a former Professor and Director of the Oxford Learning Institute.
The network will publish a joint book in 2016, focusing on member universities’ initiatives and policies to strengthen teaching and learning at each institution. The book will be based on specific cases as well as administrative aspects and overall government education policies.
University of Hong Kong will host the 2016 meeting.
